Quiet walking routes
A brisk walk a day is a fantastic way to get out, keep fit and enjoy the local area, and you are spoilt for choice when it comes to walking routes in and around Whitegate. Riverside Park sits on the edge of the stunning River Weaver. As a resident, you will be able to take as many walks along the River as you please, giving you easy access to the local eateries.
If you fancy venturing further afield, Delamere Forest gives you a choice of 3 planned walking routes that are perfect for all abilities. Delamere would be a fantastic place to take the grandkids to, as it is nice and spacious with plenty of play areas for them to enjoy.
The Whitegate Way and The Vale Royal Locks are also amongst many of the peaceful walks which can be enjoyed in the area.

If you love the finer things in life, then look no further than Define Food and Wine. Their wine menu is simply unmatched (they even host wine-themed dinners!) and you’ll surely find a bottle to suit every dish on offer at the restaurant.
We would also recommend the fine European cuisine from Kanya Bistro, rated the number 1 restaurant in Northwich. There are 3 delicious menus available (breakfast, lunch and dinner) as well as the option for an afternoon tea, and their wine menu is sure to please.
Classes and Workshops
After you retire, you suddenly have all this free time on your hands. So, what do you do with it?! A fantastic way to spend your time is to join a class or regular workshop to meet new people and learn new skills, and there are plenty in the Whitegate area.
If you have an interested in art and crafts, then Northwich art shop holds a number of events that teach a variety of art skills such as drawing, oil painting, mixed media and watercolour painting. If you are more drawn to the idea of pottery, painting and crafts then The Cheshire Craft Workshop is a fantastic place to go to show of your creative skills.
